Charleston, South Carolina Shooting Employee

Today, in Charleston, South Carolina, a disgruntled employee shot one person and held approximately 30 others hostage.  As of 3:30pm, the situation was resolved, but several street were still closed.  The event occurred on King Street, near the intersections of Warren, John, Vanderhorst, and Hutson, in close proximity to the College of Charleston.

The identity of the shooter has not been made public, however witnesses are quoting him as saying things like "there's a new boss in town" and "I'm the new King of Charleston."  SWAT and a bomb disposal team were called to the scene of the restaurant, which is no longer active.  The shooting victim count is one wounded and one deceased.  The deceased victim is being reported as a chef who worked at the restaurant, Virginia's On King, with the shooter prior to his termination.

The incident is a few blocks away from Emanuel AME church, where nine black members of a church were killed by a white man during a June 2015 Bible study.  However, this current incident is not being labeled as a terrorist attack or as being racially motivated.  Only a fired dishwasher who returned to his former place of work to get revenge.  The shooter is initially being identified by witnesses as a black male in his 50s with a grandfatherly appearance.
